🏈 Bengals' Trey Hendrickson to End Holdout and Report |
Bengals All-Pro DE Trey Hendrickson reportedly ended his holdout and is set to report to Bengals training camp today, though no contract extension has been finalized yet.
The 30‑year‑old edge rusher, who led the league with 17.5 sacks in 2024, is entering the final year of his deal with a base salary around $15.8M–$16M, and has reportedly racked up approximately $250K in fines from missing camp time.
Sources say Hendrickson’s return is a good-faith gesture aimed at kick‑starting stalled negotiations and also helps him avoid further daily $50K holdout fines—even though he may not yet practice while talks continue. | ⚾ Jays Acquire Dominguez From O's During Doubleheader |
The Blue Jays pulled off a high-stakes mid‑doubleheader move on Tuesday, acquiring reliever Seranthony Dominguez from the Orioles in exchange for pitching prospect Juaron Watts‑Brown and cash—all done between Games 1 and 2 at Camden Yards.
Dominguez, who hadn’t appeared in Game 1, literally walked through the tunnel from the Orioles’ clubhouse to Toronto’s bullpen to suit up for Game 2, where he tossed a scoreless seventh inning, striking out two and even contributing to a caught‑steal in Toronto's 3-2 loss.
The move adds a premier arm with a 3.24 ERA and 54 strikeouts over 41⅔ innings in 2025 to a Blue Jays bullpen hit hard by injuries as they chase the AL East crown.
Meanwhile, Baltimore, now sellers at the trade deadline, bolsters its farm system with a top‑10 Jays prospect. | ⚾ Braves' Acuna Jr. Headed to IL With Achilles Tightness |
Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. was placed on the 10‑day injured list after exiting Tuesday night’s 9–6 loss to the Royals with right Achilles tendon tightness, an issue that flared up again after playing through earlier discomfort while running the bases.
Braves manager Brian Snitker called it “an Achilles thing” and cautioned, “It’s going to take a while,” though he hopes the issue clears up in about ten days.
Acuna admitted he initially felt the issue during Monday’s game but opted to suit up Tuesday, citing prior missed time and a reluctance to sit out again.
The talented five-time All-Star had been batting around .306 with 14 homers in 55 games this season before the latest setback amid his ongoing battle with injuries. |
