🏀 NCAA to Keep March Madness at 68 Teams |
The NCAA officially voted to keep March Madness at 68 teams for both the 2026 men’s and women’s tournaments, maintaining the current First Four + 64‑team bracket format.
Decision-makers from both Division I basketball committees confirmed that while expansion to 72 or even 76 teams is under discussion for 2027 and beyond, no changes will be implemented for the 2026 season.
The move preserves the drama and logistics fans and broadcasters have come to expect, at least for one more year — though lively debate over future field sizes is far from over.
Keep an eye out as the NCAA continues evaluating expansion strategies starting with the 2027 tournaments. |
⚾ Judge to Rejoin Yankees After IL Stint |
Aaron Judge is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list and will rejoin the Yankees as the designated hitter tonight facing the Rangers—marking the end of his absence that began retroactive to July 26 with a right elbow flexor strain.
New York manager Aaron Boone confirmed Judge will initially return as a DH while the team begins a throwing progression to determine when he can take the field again in right field.
Before the injury, Judge was having an MVP-caliber season—leading MLB with a .342 batting average and piling up 37 home runs and 85 RBIs through 103 games.
His return couldn’t come at a more pivotal moment: New York is reeling from a brutal swoon—18–28 since mid‑June—with playoff hopes hanging in the balance as they trail the Blue Jays and Red Sox in the AL East. | 🏀 Spurs Sign De'Aaron Fox to Max Extension |
The Spurs locked in De’Aaron Fox on a four‑year, $229 million full max extension, guaranteeing his stay through the 2029‑30 season.
Fox, acquired from Sacramento at this past February’s trade deadline, averaged 19.7 points and 6.8 assists over 17 games before a finger injury ended his season.
The deal—worth the maximum under the CBA and without a player option—signals that the Spurs view Fox as a cornerstone to build around alongside Victor Wembanyama, Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle.
What's compelling here is San Antonio committing to Fox even after drafting Harper at No. 2, clearly prioritizing Fox’s elite athleticism and alignment with Wemby’s potential despite limited time together last year. |
