Good morning! 👋
It’s Sunday, August 10. On this day in 1981, Pete Rose of the Phillies set the NL hits record with his 3,631st career hit—a single against the Cardinals—surpassing Stan Musial's longstanding mark.

🏈 Jaguars' Cam Little Drills 70-Yard Field Goal |
At the end of the first half of the Jaguars’ preseason opener against the Steelers last night, Cam Little absolutely crushed a 70‑yard field goal—a jaw‑dropping feat that would have reset the NFL record if it happened in the regular season. See video.
The rookie sixth‑rounder out of Arkansas has already been turning heads with a red‑hot leg and historic accuracy.
Jacksonville head coach Liam Coen had no hesitation at the break, handing Little the call—and the kick flew through with room to spare.
Though it won’t appear in the record books thanks to it being preseason, it still has the internet—and the NFL world—buzzing. |
⚾ Ohtani Reaches 40 HRs for 3rd Straight Season |
Shohei Ohtani crushed his 40th home run of the season—a 417-foot solo shot off Chris Bassitt in the fifth inning last night—helping the Dodgers crush the Blue Jays 9-1.
This milestone marks the third consecutive season—and fourth time overall in his career—that Ohtani has reached the 40‑HR plateau.
His relentless power surge continues to put him among the elite sluggers in baseball, only trailing Cal Raleigh (44) and Kyle Schwarber (41) on the homer leaderboard. |
🏎️ Zilisch Breaks Collarbone Celebrating Win |
Connor Zilisch’s victory celebration at Watkins Glen turned painful last night when the 19‑year‑old slipped while climbing out of his No. 88 at Victory Lane, falling on the pavement after catching his foot in the window netting and suffering a broken collarbone. See video.
Medical crews were on scene fast—he was placed on a backboard, taken to hospital, and later confirmed to be awake and alert with clear CT scans, just that broken bone to report.
As a result, Trackhouse Racing withdrew their No. 87 Cup Series car for today's race, sidelining Zilisch from what would have been his fourth start this season.
Despite the scare, Zilisch took to X hours later to reassure fans he’s on the mend—“thankful for quick attention and grateful it wasn’t any worse.” |
