🏀 Cooper Flagg Shows Flashes in Summer League Debut |
Mavericks No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg turned heads in his Summer League debut on Thursday night — even if the jumper wasn’t falling.
Flagg notched a tidy 10 points, six boards, four assists, three steals, and a block in 32 minutes, highlighted by a rim-rattling tomahawk dunk and a clutch late-game block that set up the eventual go‑ahead triple.
While he went just 5‑for‑21 from the field and missed all five triples, his poise handling double teams and ability to make winning plays didn’t go unnoticed by coach Jason Kidd.
Flagg himself called it “one of the worst games of my life,” but added, “we got the win” — and those flashes of two‑way upside were enough to light up Vegas in Dallas' 87-85 victory over the Lakers. |
🎾 American Anisimova Upsets No. 1 Sabalenka at Wimbledon |
Amanda Anisimova pulled off a stunning upset over world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka in Thursday’s Wimbledon semifinal, battling past her 6–4, 4–6, 6–4 to reach her first Grand Slam final.
The 23‑year‑old served up fearless shot‑making and sidestepped Sabalenka’s comeback in the second set, holding her nerve in the decider.
The clash even featured a tense moment when Sabalenka challenged Anisimova for not apologizing after a net‑cord winner—but the American kept her cool and sealed the win.
Now Anisimova lands a dream showdown with Iga Swiatek in Saturday’s final—grass‑court fireworks incoming. | 🏀 Thunder Sign Jalen Williams to Max Extension |
The Thunder are reportedly signing Jalen Williams to a five-year rookie max extension worth up to $287 million, completing a supermax sweep for their core trio with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren this week.
The deal caps off a whirlwind offseason for OKC, with owner Clay Bennett committing a staggering $822 million to their nucleus in just days.
Williams, fresh off All-Star, All-NBA, All-Defensive honors and a Finals breakout averaging 23.6 ppg, played through wrist surgery en route to OKC’s first NBA championship.
With the entire triumvirate locked in long-term, the Thunder are firmly betting on sustained contention and the start of a true dynasty in OKC. | |
