🏈 Steelers, Dolphins Swap Minkah Fitzpatrick, Jalen Ramsey |
The Steelers and Dolphins pulled off a blockbuster trade, with safety Minkah Fitzpatrick and a 2027 fifth-rounder heading to Miami, while corner Jalen Ramsey, tight end Jonnu Smith, and a 2027 seventh-rounder go to Pittsburgh.
Fitzpatrick, a three-time All-Pro, returns to the team that originally drafted him in 2018, while Ramsey, also a three-time All‑Pro, joins a revamped Steelers secondary alongside Darius Slay Jr.
Pittsburgh is making it known: they’re going all‑in this season, adding top-tier talent on both sides of the ball with Aaron Rodgers under center.
In Miami, the move signals a shift in defensive strategy and frees cap room, but also sends a clear message that the Dolphins are looking ahead to a different core moving forward. |
🏒 Golden Knights Acquire F Mitch Marner |
The Golden Knights reportedly acquired star winger Mitch Marner in a blockbuster sign-and-trade deal with the Maple Leafs.
Marner inked an eight-year, $96 million contract (with a $12 million AAV) before being sent to Vegas, while center Nicolas Roy (with a $3 million cap hit) heads back to Toronto.
Vegas freed up the necessary cap space by placing Alex Pietrangelo on long-term injured reserve due to ongoing health issues and a recent trade of Nicolas Hague.
This move lands Vegas one of the most dynamic playmakers in the NHL, following Marner’s 102-point season and assures he’ll be wearing a Knights jersey through 2033 with high expectations already. | ⚾ Red Sox's Wilyer Abreu Hits Inside-the-Park HR, Grand Slam in Same Game |
Red Sox outfielder Wilyer Abreu put on a vintage Fenway show Monday night, first thundering an inside‑the‑park homer in the fifth—racing home on a wild bounce off the triangle wall after Reds' TJ Friedl slipped in pursuit. See video.
Then, in the eighth, Abreu crushed his first career grand slam, punctuating Boston’s 13‑6 rout and becoming just the sixth player ever—and the first since Roger Maris in 1958—to achieve both feats in one game.
The inside‑the‑parker was Boston’s first at Fenway since Jacoby Ellsbury in 2011, and Abreu finished 2‑for‑5 with five RBIs in a night for the ages. |
